When the nursing department at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge wanted to celebrate their second consecutive year of Magnet certification by highlighting technological innovation and team member collaboration, we pointed out that the string of huge words needed humanity. Matte gold foil and golden ink celebrate the Magnet achievement, and Art Deco-inspired designs hint at technology; but warm photography captures friendly interactions between team members and patients. On the cover, a full-page emboss subtly introduces the patterns that will follow throughout the book. Crisp white paper keeps things “clean” and “healthy” without becoming clinical.
